Baaj Temple - Flower

Flowers

  1. Withered Bouquet

Flowers? Yes, this might sound strange, but on several pillars in the Baaj Temple ruins, the word "Flower" is written. I do not know if it is written in blood, but with the creepy scenery and Seymour's emotional state, it feels important. Can someone at Square Enix please confirm this?

I expected many creepy things in Baaj Temple, but not the word "Flower". That is what makes this detail so strange to me. It feels too soft for such a dark place, and maybe that is exactly why it hurts.

With no-clip, I finally got a closer look at the pillar. Honestly? It looks like blood to me. I have played Silent Hill for years, I know suspicious red writing when I see it.

Remember the bouquet we find at the beginning of the game in Baaj, and then burn? The description says: "Someone put heart and soul into making this."

I already wondered about this back in 2004, before I found the Ultimania Omega note. The bouquet always felt too personal to be random.

And then I found out that the Final Fantasy X Ultimania Omega guide basically confirms that this "someone" is Seymour. Oh my.

I looked up how long it takes for a bouquet to wither, and it can be around ten days. So imagine Seymour arranging this bouquet with heart and soul for his mother, only days before the game begins. As the player, we are literally burning a memorial, just for survival.

  2. Wedding bouquet

Yuna looks absolutely like an angel in this dress. It is obvious because of the wings and feathers, but I also think Seymour is trying to ask for forgiveness and love.

Flowers have meaning, and her bouquet is arranged with red and yellow roses. Red roses can mean love and passion. Yellow roses can mean friendship and joy, but also apology and forgiveness.

Can you imagine that he is trying to reach Yuna in the only way he knows how?
